MGM GRAND LANDS PACQUIAO-MARQUEZ, MAY 8th
Florham Park, NJ — After aggressive bidding by three major Las Vegas hotels, the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino has landed the rights to host the megafight between superstar Manny Pacquiao and IBF/WBA Featherweight king Juan Manuel Marquez. The bout will be broadcast live on HBO May 8.

Originally, three major hotels were vying to host the fight, one of the most highly anticipated matches of the year, but when the original May 22 date felt through it left two of the casinos unable to make changes to their schedules. That opened the door for promoters Murad Muhammad and Bob Arum to strike a deal with the MGM Grand.

Meanwhile, Muhammad arrived in Manila this morning to accompany an HBO crew that is in the country to film the Filipino superstar and his fans. He is really impressed with the hospitality and respect that the people of the Philippines have shown towards him.

During this trip, Muhammad will also meet with several influential people to discuss the possibilities of bringing to the Philippines a future spectacular event featuring Pacquiao.
