Rocky Martinez Heads to NYC for a Clown Kicking
Junior welterweight Rocky Martinez heads to New York City next week as he takes on undefeated prospect Paul Malignaggi at the Grand Ballroom in the Manhattan Center on Thursday, April 22nd. The scheduled ten rounder headlines a huge "Broadway Boxing" show promoted by DiBella Entertainment.
After sparring twelve rounds on Wednesday, Rocky spoke about the fight and his opponent,"I've seen his tapes, all that clowning around, it takes guys out of their fight plan. That won'thappen to me, if he sticks his tongue out, I'll be too busy smacking him in the ribs to care.I'm coming to New York City to kick this clown's ass, not to play games and certainly not just to show up. They picked the wrong Mexican this time, just like they did a while backwith Ricardo Williams and Juan Valenzuela. I've had plenty of time to prepare and have been at 141 for over two weeks. I sparred twelve rounds today and three times last week, I'venever been in this good of shape or this focused."
Speaking about Malignaggi's announced appearance on the June 17th ShoBox card, Rocky was furious, '"what kind of crap, they announce his next match a month before he's gonna fight me, like I'm a bum, a walkover, they couldn't be more wrong."
Responding to his stablemates' Al "Speedy" Gonzales' recent quotes about Malignaggi, the tough as nails Martinez said, "tell Al not to worry, he can get his own clown, I'm taking care of this one.His 0 will be mine and that's the end of that."

Hopefully, Rocky beats the snot out of this over-hyped, over-protected, loud mouth. Malignaggi wants Bojado?? Gimmie a break. The puss won't fight "Speedy" even though he said he'd fight him in NYC, anytime.
When Paulie "The Capon" starts fighting guys like Feliciano & Speedy, I'll start giving him props.

By the way, Al "Speedy" Gonzales' most recent opponent, Jesse Feliciano, was reported to have given Mohamad Abdullaev some scary moments in their recent bout. However, Abdullaev won via TKO8 over Feliciano.
