Pro Boxing returns to Plymouth
“The Dream” headlines ‘Plymouth Rocks’ June 11 at Memorial Hall

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (May 19, 2004) – The most avoided junior welterweight in the East, Jimmy “The Dream” LeBlanc, headlines “Plymouth Rocks,” promoted by Brennan’s Smoke Shop, Friday night, June 11 at Plymouth Memorial Hall.

“We want to promote entertaining shows featuring competitive matches in various weight classes,” promoter Karen Brennan Fontana said. “We have some great fights and exciting fighters of local interest. ‘Plymouth Rocks’ will give every paying fan his or her money’s worth and a lot more.”

LeBlanc (9-6-3, 3 KOs), of South Boston, has had three relatively high-profile fights in a row fall apart for reasons out his control. The former Massachusetts State light welterweight challenger is matched against William Foster (3-2-1, 1 KO), of New Haven (CT), in the main event.

Another popular South Boston fighter, junior middleweight Martin “The Irish Assassin” Thornton (7-1-1, 3 KOs), takes on former WBF welterweight champion Bruce Corby (16-23, 14 KOs), of Scranton (PA), in the co-feature.

Also expected to fight on “Plymouth Rocks,” in separate bouts, are unbeaten bantamweight Denise “Mighty” Moses (3-0, 3 KOs), of Lawrence (MA), and junior middleweight Jose Medina (4-3, 1 KO), of Tilton (NH), All bouts and fighters are subject to change.

Tickets, priced at $50.00 for reserved seats and $30.00 for general admission, may be purchased at Plymouth Memorial Hall or any of Brennan’s Smoke Shops.
