Laila Ali Added to Tyson Card Promoter Chris Webb/Straight Out Promotions has added a women's world title fight to the Mike Tyson vs Danny Williams fight card on Friday, July 30, 2004, at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. A total of nine fights are scheduled for the card.
WIBA light heavyweight world champion Laila Ali, 17-0, with 14 knockouts, of Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Louisville native Muhammad Ali, will defend the title against Monica Nunez, 9-1, with 5 knockouts, of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds. Chris said today, "We very excited that Laila Ali has been added to the July 30 event. She has established herself over the last few years as the best female boxer in the world, and Monica Nunez is a very tough opponent for her. We think this will be a sensational battle."
