ALEXANDER DIMITRENKO FACES JULIUS FRANCIS INSTEAD OF PURITTY

Stuttgart - Universum heavyweight prospect Alexander Dimitrenko, 14-0 (10), is facing a new opponent for his fight on July 31 in Stuttgart. The 22 year old Hamburg based Ukrainian was originally scheduled to fight American Ross Puritty. Instead he will now take on British Julius Francis on the same occasion.

The reason for the opponent change is an injury that Puritty suffered in training. While sparring with former WBC cruiserweight champion Juan Carlos Gomez the man from Oklahoma hurt his ellbow and had no alternative but to call off.

But with the 39 year old two time British champion Julius Francis Universum could sign an experienced and serious stepping stone of the same caliber for Dimitrenko.

Francis, 23-17-1 (12), is a professional boxer for more than eleven years. He fought in 19 title contests and faced among others Mike Tyson, Vitali Klitschko, John Ruiz and the current reigning European heavyweight champion Luan Krasniqi.

In his last fight Francis lost a twelve round decision to his undefeated countrymen Audley Harris in a world title fight of a small organization.

The fight between Alexander Dimitrenko and Ross Puritty will be fetched later, once the former conqueror of Wladimir Klitschko healed his shoulder.
