FIGHT NIGHT 46 "REVENGE AT THE EAGLE" Was Troy Weaver afraid of fighting Greg Wright on July 31st at the Lucky Eagle Casino? Well, behind the scenes Wright was in Weavers face'wondering' why Weaver was 'afraid' to fight just because Wright was over weight by a mere 3 pounds. Promoter Bennie Georgino was quoted "threepounds is not that big a deal for a big guy....". Weaver seemed toembarrass himself by the decision and is determined to "show up" onSeptember 18th. Weaver has 20 wins and 20 knockouts and Wright is 20-11-0 and has never been knocked down. Weaver is very popular for his powerful early round knockouts, but he may be hearing some boos from the fans this time out. Heavyweight favorite Chauncy Welliver faces Joseph Kiwanuka in a 6 round preliminary bout with the winner fighting for a NWBA Title shot at former World Heavyweight Champ Tony Tubbs. Michael Lucero returns in an eight round battle against undefeated SeanPleses (7-0). Lucero (8-7-1) has two impressive wins at the past two Lucky Eagle fights.
