Hamburg – Former WBO middleweight champion Felix Sturm, 21-1 (9), recently posed for a photo shooting in a cold storage house. On the photos published in the German magazine MAX Sturm beat on slaps of meat in the style of the “Rocky” movies. The mega photo shooting took ten hours.

In spring Sylvester Stallone, who invent this unusual training method in his movie from 1976, was offering Felix Sturm to star in his own show on US TV. Sturm, however, prefered to entirely focus on his preparations for his fight against Oscar de la Hoya on June 5. Sturm’s great performance proved that he was right, even though he lost a highly controversial decision.

Next year, however, could be reparation time for the 25-year-old German who scored a unanimous twelve round decision over American Richard Frazier on September 18. It’s because undisputed middleweight world champion Bernard Hopkins, who knocked out de la Hoya on the same night, recently stated that he favors Felix Sturm as next challenger.

The athmospheric photos of Felix Sturm working out in a cold storage house are now published on www.boxing.de.
