Regina Halmich tops Universum show in Magdeburg!

Magdeburg – Woman boxing world champion Regina Halmich, 45-1-1 (15 KO's), is heading Universum Box-Promotion’s first show in 2005, tomorrow, January 15, in Magdeburg, Germany.

The reigning WIBF flyweight championesse from Germany is defending her title against Marylin Herandez, 9-3 (4 KO's), from the Dominican Republic.

In the second main event Cuban heavyweight contender and former WBC cruiserweight world champion Juan Carlos Gomez, 37-1 (31 KO's), takes on Nigerian David DeFiagbon, 21-1 (12 KO's).

Both fights will be televised on German ZDF television.

On the undercard German Bert Schenk, 35-1 (22 KO's), a former WBO middleweight champion, continues his comeback with a fight against Frenchman Hamid Bouhembel, 7-13-2 (5 KO's).

Also on the card is explosive 18-year-old Russian heavyweight prospect Denis Boytsov, 4-0 (4 KO's), who scored first round knockouts in all his professional fights so far.
