Lonnie Bradley Returns, Tops Newark Card

Little Falls, NJ, January 29, 2005 — Today the Darwish Brothers Knockout Promotions made a major announcement today for their upcoming event, Feb. 17 at Newark’s Robert Treat Hotel. Former WBO Middleweight champion of the world Lonnie Bradley will be making his comeback fight as the main event of what is shaping up to be an exciting boxing event. Bradley, 29-1-1 21 KOs, captured the WBO Middleweight title in May of 1995 and successfully defended his title six times before being sidelined in 1997 with an eye injury.

From the start of his career in 1992, Bradley has enjoyed great success. He was 20-0 before getting his first shot at the title when he stopped David Mendez in the 12th and final round to capture the WBO Middleweight title on May 19 1995. Bradley successfully defended the crown 6 consecutive times; including a win over former world champion Simon Brown. In his sixth title defense in June 1997, Bradley fought top contender Otis Grant to a draw in what would be his last fight before a two-year layoff to repair a detached retina. Bradley returned to the ring in August 1999, stopping Robert Mohammed in six rounds. The lone loss in his record occurred in his last fight, slightly over a year ago. Now Bradley has rededicated himself and is ready to make a splash on the boxing scene once again. Bradley’s opponent for Feb. 17 is yet to be determined.

With Lonnie Bradley making his comeback fight, along with explosive young world title contenders Johnny Molnar and Justo Sencion, the fight card entitled “Darwish Rumble III” is looking to be an action-filled treat for all boxing fans. The Darwish brothers have indeed put together a show that proves their commitment to bring only the best, top-notch boxing to north jersey and its fans. A pre-fight Press conference is scheduled to take place at the Robert treat Hotel in Downtown Newark on Tuesday, February 1 at 12:00pm.
