MERRILLVILLE, IND.- Indiana State and IN.B.A. Lightweight Champion Johnny Novak, of Hammond, announced today he will bypass a Scheduled February bout at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL to honor two area boxing legends in the "Date With Destiny" fight card being held March 25, 2005 at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, Merrillville, IN.

The next action packed One in a Million, Inc. show will fall almost twenty years to the day after a legendary match-up between Carlos Tite and Mike Landini held at the Hammond Civic Center that still stands as an example of professional boxing old glory days in the Midwest.

Novak passed on an offer to show case his talent to fans in Chicago to support his team and honor Tite and Landini.

"Any fan knows that the Tite-Landini bout represents something special in sports history, and I want to commemorate that event by beating another opponent on my way to a world title," Novak said. " I'm a fan of Carlos and Mike, but now with One in a Million, I'm part of a team that's going to start a whole new glory period in boxing in the Midwest."

"Date With Destiny" will also feature another future world champion in Gary's own Jermaine White, a Light Welterweight who is drawing lots of attention from boxing fans, said Octavius James, CEO of One in a Million, Inc.

"Jermaine and Johnny are the future of boxing in the Midwest, and they're developing serious reputations with fans everywhere," James said. "They're key players on our team, and they're both excited about the Tite-Landini anniversary and fighting in front of those two living legends."

Another fighter with experience of fighting before national televised audiences Middleweight "Marvelous" Shay Mobley, will climb into the ring again for this card, as will Hammond Light Heavyweight Guy Solis and Demotte's Middleweight Jimmy "The Fighting Teacher" Holmes.
