CHICAGO, IL – The undercard to Dominic Pesoli’s “Night of Destruction” proved to live up the hype at the historic Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. One fight provided a really engaging struggle with plenty of bloodshed the other two bouts provided sensational and devastating first round knock outs
Bout 1: The first bout of the evening featured Jorge Gonzalez (159 lbs., 1-0-0) vs. Aundelan Sloan (156.5 lbs., 6-12-2, 3 KO’s) at Super Middle.
Although Sloan (156.5) bloodied the nose of Chicago’s Gonzalez (159), it wasn’t enough to discourage the former Golden Gloves champion. Gonzalez (2-0-0) used angles and quick combinations on the inside to break down and stagger the Fund Du Lac, WI. native. Judges scored the bout 40-36, 39-37, and 39-37 for Gonzalez.

Bout 2 Donovan “Da Bomb” George (163 lbs., 2-0-1, 2 KO’s), vs. Ed Humes (163.5 lbs., 5-32-1, 1 KO) was the second bout of the evening. George, the Chicago native, started out fast behind a good jab. The two engaged in a spirited affair but unfortunately for the game Humes (5-34-1) he would have to go back to his home town of Cincinnati after being KO’d in devastating fashion at the hands of George at 2:22 of the first round. The knockout blow was a ramrod right hand to the head. Humes needs to think about his future, having averaged 1 win every seven bouts. George (3-0-1) however looked good. At the same time,he still needs to improve as Humes was catching him with lead rights in this bout of middleweights.
Jimmy Gonzalez (166 lbs.) came out in the first round of his pro debut guns a-blazing against Don Adams (161.5 lbs., 1-0-0, 1 KO) of Columbus, OH. After catching Gonzalez with a great left hook Adams was immediately deposited on his trunks by the Chicagoan with a hard left counter. Dazed and confused Adams got up and tried to defend himself but was dropped a second time. Adams showed a lot of heart by getting up again but was violently dropped a third time forcing the referee to call a halt to the bout seconds before the end of the first round. Gonzalez now improves to 2-0-0 and Adams falls to 1-1-0.
