LOS ANGELES, March 25 – Boxing superstar Antonio "Magic Man" Tarver captivated the boxing world in 2004 with his rise to prominence against the odds. On Sunday, March 27 at 8pm (ET/PT) 7pm (CT), Tarver will impart his wisdom to the 12 remaining boxers on NBC’s new reality series “The Contender” when he appears on the show as a special guest star. “I’ve been through all the struggles that the fight game can throw at you, and I’ve prevailed,” said Tarver, one of the premier light heavyweights in the world today. “I’m honored to be able to share my story and help the remaining boxers on “The Contender” to achieve their dreams in the ring.” “I’d like to thank the fans for all their continued support, and I assure them that 2005 will be my greatest year ever.
