SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA - Alex “The Bronx Bomber” Ramos, Founder and President of the Retired Boxers Foundation, announced today that the Retired Boxers Foundation has appointed it’s newest Honorary Board Member, Kerry Daigle, a proud Cajun from Opelousas, Louisiana—and a successful entrepreneur since 1965.
Daigle hosts a weekly radio show “Keep Punching with Kerry Daigle”, writes books, keeps a hectic speaking schedule and is a frequent guest on radio and television. Kerry Daigle has been a mentor and advisor to Alex Ramos and the Retired BoxersFoundation for many years. “Kerry Daigle has been a successful business man andI respect his compassion for the sport of boxing and most importantly, hisrespect for the boxers. We are looking forward to learning from him,” saidRamos. The Honorary Board of the Retired Boxers Foundation also includes:

- Col. Bob Sheridan, International Boxing Commentator with over 750 Championship bouts, including the infamous Rumble in the Jungle and 10,000 plus televisedboxing shows.
- Judge Mills Lane, Former Marine, lawyer and judge, and one of the most respected ring officials in professional boxing. Host of his own television show untilsuffering a debilitating stroke in 2003.
- Frank Stallone, brother of Sylvester Stallone, but known in his own right as agreat musician, actor and boxing historian.
- Genaro “Chicanito” Hernandez , former world champion boxer and now boxing statistician with Compubox.
- Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini , former world champion professional boxer and currently actor, director, producer and screenwriter.
- Irish Micky Ward, one of the best known present day boxers, now retired, who fought the best—including Arturo Gatti.
- Ron Shelton, Writer, Producer and Director famous for “White Men Can’t Jump,” “Tin Cup,” “Play it to the Bone” and as a contributing writer on the Academy Award winning “Million Dollar Baby.”
- Bill Farley, former broadcaster and writer and current Executive at Playboy Enterprises; Bill is one of Hugh Hefner’s right hand men and highly respected inthe sports and entertainment fields.
Other Honorary Board Members include Bo Derek, Lolita Davidovich and Mickey Rooney who are all well-known actors.; Gary Litchfield, Restaurateur, Entrepreneur, Ring Official and newest member of the Boxing Commission in Massachusetts; and Lt. Mike Indri, who started as an Honorary Board Member is now the East Coast Representative for the RBF. Indri is a Lieutenant with the West New York Police Department and is an accomplished boxing columnist and fundraiser.

Alex “The Bronx Bomber” Ramos, Founder and President of the had the following background: 4-time New York Golden Gloves Champion; 1984 USBA Middleweight Champion; 1986 California Middleweight Champion; Member of the USA Boxing Team 1978-80; and one of NBC’s “Tomorrow’s Champions."
However, he became homeless and addicted to alcohol and drugs only to escape from what he calls “the darkness” and start the Retired Boxers Foundation to help retired professional boxers in the difficult transition from their glorious days in the ring to a dignified retirement.
Jacquie Richardson is the Executive Director of the Retired Boxers Foundation. She is a grantwriter with over twenty years experience who met Alex Ramos at a grand opening for a boxing gym where she had written a gang prevention grant using boxing as an incentive to stay in school.
Richardson currently works part time for the Ventura County District Attorney where she coordinates services for victims of child molestation and abuse. Jacquie assisted Ramos in the establishment ofthe RBF and assists Alex in getting the word out about the Retired Boxers Foundation and its mission. Jacquie has written over $8.5 million in successful grant proposals to help the less fortunate.
