The Best in boxing on NER radio show
Johnson & Tarver Thursday, The Contender Saturday night

BOSTON (May 23, 2005) – The two best light heavyweights in the world, Glencoffe Johnson and Antonio Tarver, are special guests on Thursday night’s show, while Saturday turns into The Contender night on the New England Ringside radio shows this week.

Johnson and Tarver will discuss their June 18 rematch, as well as their first fight and victories against Roy Jones. Thursday’s two-hour New England Ringside Boxing Radio Show – hosted by Ted Bodenrader, Anthony Pepe, Rick Brutti and Joe Bills – airs between 6-8 PM/ET on Boston’s Boxing Station, The Zone (1510 AM). It also may be heard live on the Internet by going to www.newenglandringside.com.

Saturday night’s show, 7-9 PM/ET from Boston on WWZN, features guests from The Contender reality television show, including finalist Peter Manfredo, Jr., Jimmy Lange, and Tarrick “The Arabian Prince” Salmaci. Show hosts Bill Skog, “Irish” Pat Kelley, “Dynamite” Danny Sheehan and Jeff “HellRaza” Fraza, also one of The Contenders, will be joined by another guest, Jimmy Burchfield, founder and president of Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc. Burchfield will talk about his close friend and former fighter, Manfredo, as well as CES’ June 17 show in Providence, headlined by Joey “KO Kid” Spina and supported by, among others, U.S. Olympian Jason “Big Six” Estrada, and unbeaten cruiserweight prospect Matt Godfrey.

Also on the agenda both nights is “Expressway Jam,” promoted by NER Promotions, a division of New England Ringside, June 3 at Freeport Hall (IBEW) in Dorchester (MA). Luis Hernandez headlines the show with Rodney Toney facing Shannon Miller in the co-feature. Undercard fighters include “Nasty” Nick Morganelli, Castulo “El Poderoso” Gonzalez, John Paul Keane and Mike Bernal.

New England Ringside also hosts a popular web site, publishes a monthly magazine, and owns Fightography (sells classic boxing pictures). For more information about New England Ringside call 781.932.1190 or go on line to www.newenglandringside.com.
