Professional Boxing Returns to Oregon with
COMMOTION AT THE OCEAN VI
PRESS RELEASE
Michael "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" Buffer to be Ring Announcer LINCOLN CITY, Oregon - Professional boxing returns to Oregon at Chinook Winds Casino Resort's Commotion at the Ocean VI on Saturday, June 4. This year, many of the fighters hail from the Northwest including, Portland area fighters Marcus Pernell, Reggie Davis, Molly McConnell and Tacoma, Washington, fighter Emmett "Laser" Linton.
This year's Commotion at the Ocean will include two co-main event matches announced by the internationally recognized voice of sports, Michael Buffer. Buffer with his tuxedo image and famous trademarked phrase is one of the most recognized faces in the world of sports and entertainment due to his 20 plus years of announcing many of the biggest championship boxing events with "Let's Get Ready to Rumble!"®
The night's title fight is a 12 round Junior Middleweight bout for the now vacant UBA Americas will pit Tacoma's Emmett "Laser" Linton (33-3, 15KO's) against Darrell Woods (22-10, 16KO's) of St. Petersburg, Florida. Currently rated number one with the North American Boxing Organization, Linton has held titles with the World Boxing Commission (WBC), World Boxing Union (WBU), and International Boxing Association (IBA).
The second main event match of the evening will be an 8 round Middleweight fight between Portland's own Reggie Davis (13-2, 6KO's) and Tom Wilt (18-3, 4KO's) of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
In her first 6 round fight, Portlander Molly McConnell (4-0, 1KO) will take on Terry Blair (5-8-1, 3KO's) of Louisville, Kentucky. Jackie Kallen, McConnell's manager and "The Contender" co-star, will be present for the fight. This should be a very exciting match as McConnell and Blair just recently faced each other in early April and McConnell won by a very close decision. McConnell was recently nominated for 2004 Harry S. Glickman NIKE Oregon Professional Athlete of the Year and received the Women's Boxing Archive Network's 2004 Rookie of the year.

Also on the under card that night is Oregonian Marcus Pernell (8-0, 4KO's) versus Sheldon Callum of San Francisco. This Portland boxer's father is the well known Ray "Lightning" Lampkin. Lampkin was the first boxer from Oregon to go professional and ultimately fight for a championship against Roberto Duran in March, 1975. Last year at Commotion at the Ocean V, Pernell recorded his second first-round knockout. www.chinookwindscasino.com.# # #
