Popular Langel's Pizza Hosts Championship Weigh-Ins Tonight!
MERRILLVILLE, IND.- Langel's Pizza, 2833 Highway Ave., in Highland has again been selected to host the Weigh-Ins July 7th at 6:30 PM for the July 8th "Battle of Independence," One In A Million's unprecedented night of Three championship bouts at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, IN. Doors open at 7:00 PM.
A number of restaurants have expressed interests in hosting the July 7th Weigh-In, known for drawing fight fans from throughout Chicagoland, but Langel's has consistently shown a commitment to supporting the Midwest's premiere boxing team, said Octavius James, CEO of One in a Million, Inc.
"Businesses are really seeing the popularity and exploding interest in pro boxing, so we get a lot of requests from those trying to get in on the action," James said. "But, Rodney Langel and his team have been with us since the beginning, and they're a highly respected and well known business."
"Battle of Independence" will feature Hammond Lightweight Johnny Novak defending his IN.B.A Championship Belt. Middleweight Jimmy "The Fighting Schoolteacher" Holmes, of Demotte looks to win his first State Title.
And, fresh from a high profile HBO Pay-Per-View fight, Ruben "The Modern Day Warrior" Galvan will try to regain his IN.B.A. Light Welterweight Championship.
"Battle of Independence" will also feature Jermaine "Too Sweet" White, clearly on track for a world championship, and former Chicago Golden Gloves Champion "Merciless" Mary McGee making her second professional appearance.
Official Weigh-Ins are open to the public and all fight fans at Langel’s Thursday, July 7th at 7:00 PM
