W. Lawrence, one half block east of Broadway on the North Side of Chicago. Tickets, starting at $25 are on sale now by calling 312-226-5800, doors will open on fight night at 6pm with the first bell scheduled for 7pm. Recently added to the 8 Count Productions' family, Chicagoland favorite Jose Hernandez, 18-2 (13KO's) will face the toughest test of his career as he battles Panamanian Armando "El Policia" Cordoba, 21-19-1 (16KO's), now fighting out of Tampa, FL.
Said promoter Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, "Jose's fought on our showsa few times and he and his manager, Larry Christian feel that this is a good time for them to move forward towards tougher opponents and a rise in the rankings. He's a great kid to work with, a real gentlemen, always in shape, always ready to fight. Our fans haved loved seeing him on our cards and we're very happy he's joined our team." Speaking of Cordoba, Pesoli stated, 'Cordoba's a tough as nails featherweight who's foughtvery tough guys throughout his career. He's had close fights with guys like Robbie Peden, Humberto Soto, Hector Velazquez, Orlando Soto, Steven Lueveno and Daniel Santos. Two months ago he knocked out Daniel Maldonado who was a rising prospect with an 18-1 record. No question this is a tough fight for Jose and should be action packed from start to finish." In closing Pesoli added, "Our fans have come to expect great events and this one might be one of our best. Three terrific ten round bouts and a great undercard of five six-rounders.
