Briggs vs. Zolyone - December 10th in Puerto Rico!

Resurgent former linear heavyweight champion Shannon “Brooklyn” Briggs, 44-4-1 (38 KOs), has been added to the undercard of the already action-packed Puerto Rico's Best Boxing-promoted, Ivan Calderon vs. Daniel Reyes, Ricardo Torres vs. Henry Bruseles, and Daniel Alicea vs. Juan Gomez Trinidad triple bill on December 10 at Roberto Clemente Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Currently riding the momentum of a string of eight consecutive knockouts, Briggs will face unknown but undefeated 6’ 6” Brazilian Luciano Zolyone, 22-0-1 (21 KOs), in a ten-round showdown. Determined to prove his newfound maturity and dedication, the Zolyone fight will mark Briggs’ fifth this year. The hard-punching New Yorker scored a KO 1 over Brian Scott last Saturday night, November 26, as the main event of the Heavyweight Slug-Out show in Forth Smith, Arkansas. By facing Briggs in Puerto Rico, Zolyone will be venturing outside the confines of South America for just the second time in his career.

The Calderon/Reyes tilt will be for the WBO Minimumweight Championship, while Torres/Bruseles will be for the vacant WBA International Light Welterweight belt.
