Star Boxing Signs Derrick 'Smoke' Gainer!
Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing, Inc. announced today that it has signed former world champion Derrick “Smoke” Gainer to a promotional contract.
Pensacola, Florida’s Gainer has compiled a record of 39-7-1, with 24 KO’s over 15 years as a professional and is looking to revitalize his career, become more active and land another title shot. “I believe in Joe and Joe believes in me, so it should be a good relationship. Plus, I feel he made me a fair offer,” said Gainer of the signing.
DeGuardia says he is pleased about the signing of Gainer and feels he can get him into the championship mix. “Smoke is a top fighter who can take his game to the next level and win another world title if he has the mental focus he vows he has found. We are very pleased to be working with him.”
