Champion “Macho” Miguel Hernandez, 17-3-0, and 9 knockouts, is training for what promises to be an exciting match on the under card of undefeated knockout artist Joel Julio vs. Robert Kamya on Friday, January 6th at Cicero Stadium in Cicero, Illinois. In what may be boxing’s equivalent of an NFL match post-season match between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings, Chicagoan Miguel Hernandez will take on rugged Minnesota Middleweight Titlist Butch Hajicek in a non-title bout. Expect fireworks aplenty in this bout! Butch Hajicek, 4-4-1 and 2 knockouts, stopped Christopher Holt in the sixth round for the Minnesota State Middleweight Title in December. Hajicek previously demonstrated his durability and “never say die” attitude in losing unanimous decisions to Donavan George in April 2005 and Ottu Holifield in November 2004.

Similar to Hajicek, Hernandez stopped Holt in the fourth round in November 2004 and dropped a decision to hard-punching Kenny Kost in July 2005, albeit by 10 round split decision; Hajicek lost to Kost by a four round unanimous decision in May 2004.

If looks are any indicator, Miguel should do well against his Minnesotan rival.
