35 Years Ago Today: A Young George Foreman KO's Charlie Boston in 1st Round!

ST. PAUL, MN, February 8, 1971 - A young George Foreman kayed Charlie Boston in the first round.

That was 35 years ago.

12 fights later, he would go on to knock down Joe Frazier three times in the first and three times in the the second round to stop him in winning the WBC and WBA Heavyweight Titles on January 22, 1973.

Foreman went on to compile a record of 76-5 and 68 knockouts, including his famous "Rumble in the Jungle" with Muhammad Ali and his scintillating, come from behind knockout win over Michael Moorer in November 1994.
