Superfighter is a new and innovative sports entertainment event showcasing the extraordinary talents of the world's elite fighters in an intensity harnessed atmosphere. Already endorsed by the WBC, the sport's finest heroes, past and present advocated Superfighter as an event which will take the boxing and sporting world by storm. Superfighter is an elimination, gladiatorial event presenting the talents of eight international boxers, all on the one card, all in the one day but with only one champion at the end. Superfighter has addressed safety, enhanced the telecast offering and included never before innovative technology and scoring systems. With the event lasting just four hours, each bout is a maximum of 4 x 3 minute rounds, with the winner of each moving onto the semi final and then final. The winner of Superfighter will have fought a maximum of 12 x 3 minute rounds and will have defeated three opponents in one day on the way to being crowned World Superfighter Champion, claiming a major slice of the US$20 Million in prize money and guarantees. Any fighter, of any fighting discipline and technique can challenge for a position in the inaugural Superfighter event under the Superfighter Rules & Regulations which are the rules of boxing apart from varied scoring and technology components. Superfighter is scheduled in for June 4th 2006 at Melbourne Vodafone Arena and will be telecast live into the USA on the evening of Saturday June 3rd to provide a suitable time zone for North American viewers. Superfighter will transcend the boundaries of sports entertainment, bringing live music, visuals and a theatrical experience to entice a sensory overload. Superfighter is endorsed by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and is seen as the opportunity the sport of boxing has been waiting for to expand the fan base and ignite the interest of the sports fan toward the great sport once again. Superfighter will have more action, more intensity, and more champions on one card and on one night than in the history of boxing. Superfighter is the future for the shortened, entertainment rich format of the sport with the plan to hold the event annually as a jewel in the crown sports and entertainment event, showcasing the best of the best in a range of divisions.
