Iowa City's Toby Batie Advances to National Golden Gloves Quarterfinals!

OMAHA, Nebr. - With less than ten bouts under his belt, 21 year old Toby Batie of the Iowa City/Coralville Boxing Club was the only Iowan to advance to the quarterfinals of the National Golden Gloves this past week, defeating Cleveland's Jabir Abdul Basit in the 201+ pound superheavyweight division, before losing a decision to the eventual tournament champion Felix Stewart of Ohio.

Batie is trained by Adam Pollack at Gold's Gym in Coralville. Pollack also trains national champion Emily Klinefelter and currently ranked #3 in the nation Katy Klinefelter.
