Stephens (right) against Demetrice King last July

HOLLYWOOD, Flor. - Heavyweight boxer Lamar "Big T" Stephens was supposed to be the conduit for celebrated K-1 mixed martial arts bomber "Mighty Mo" Siala Siliga's introduction into boxing. After all, last July, he was TKO'ed by Demetrice King, who sported a similar build as Siliga and was 7-8 with 5 knockouts at the time. Moreover, in K-1 competition, Siliga had stopped the normally durable former IBF Heavyweight Title holder Francois Botha.

Someone guessed wrong.

According to www.boxrec.com , Stephens gave Siliga a rude introduction to the sport, winning their six round affair by unanimous decision with the following scores: Judge Bill Ray, 59-55; Judge Fred Fluty, 59-55; and Judge Ric Bays, 59-55.

Fightnews.com reported that Stephens maintained a steady jab throughout, negating Siliga's power, and hurt him with an uppercut in the closing moments of the bout.

The referee was Jorge Alonso.
