July 4, 2006

The North American Boxing Federation (NABF) and representatives of North American fighter David Diaz, contested the low rating awarded by the WBC to their boxer and, at the same time, requested the repositioning of Diaz as No. 1 of the lightweight division.

David Diaz has an excellent record of 31 wins (16 KO’s), 1 defeat and 1 draw; he has defeated prestigious rivals such as Colombian Juan Polo Perez, ex world superfly champion; Ener Julio, Silverio Ortiz, Cristian Favela, among others.

The World Boxing Council responded that it will consider in a positive manner, the above mentioned request.
