Robert Morales: Vargas out to prove critics wrong again

Somewhere deep in his heart Fernando Vargas is a talented, fearless fighter who is willing to put his life on the line every time he steps into the ring.

However, Vargas' trainer Danny Smith and other experts say because of knockouts suffered at the hands of Felix Trinidad, Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya in 2000 and 2002, respectively, we never may see that Fernando Vargas again, even though he is 28.
