Henry Hill in Stevie Johnston’s corner
July 29 vs. Vivian Harris

LAS VEGAS (July 20, 2006) – Veteran trainer Henry Hill will work the corner of Stevie “Little But Bad” Johnston (38-3-1, 17 KOs) on July 29 against “Vicious” Vivian Harris in the 10-round main event on HBO’s Boxing After Dark at the Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California.

Hill replaced Buddy McGirt four months ago as Johnston’s head trainer. “We don’t have a problem with Buddy McGirt,” Johnston’s manager Jim Rider explained the change. “Buddy’s busy schedule didn’t allow him the time to give Stevie the attention he needs and deserves. On March 31, Buddy chose to work Lamont Brewster’s corner rather than Stevie’s. Henry Hill worked Stevie’s corner that night against Roberto Ortega (WTKO5) and he’s been Stevie’s head trainer ever since. We didn’t make the change for the Harris fight.

“I have all of the respect and trust in the world for Buddy. The same night (July 29) he’ll be working the corner for two of my fighters in Boise. He’ll be assisting Denny Brown in Prince Badi’s corner (vs. Roy Jones, Jr.) and he’s William Guthrie’s head trainer (vs. Luke Munsen).”
