Euro-Beat Update: Joval is Back in Training & More!

IBO middle champ Raymond Joval is back in full training after a lengthy layoff due to a neck injury. Joval is now hoping to be back in the ring as soon as possible. There could be a title defence in the UK against Brit Gary Lockett in the early fall.

Polish lightweight Matt Zegan takes on Nate Campbell in a IBF eliminator on the Valuev vs Barrett show in Chicago, IL, October 7. Ukrainian heavy Volodia Lazebnik is also on the bill.

Republica Boxing Promotion, headed by Bruno Arati, in Berne, Switzerland promotes a pro/am show September 14 with unbeaten welter Riad Menasria, 25-0-1, on top. RBP use BoxingKings as their "ringname" when they announce shows.

Comebacking supermiddle Malik Dziarra takes on Pole Maciej Jankowski on Saturday (Aug 19) in Halle/Saale, Germany.

Krzysztof Wlodarczyk vs Steve Cunningman for the vacant IBF cruiser title is heading for purse bids August 29 but Don King Productions have asked for more time for negotiations. The fight could end up in Poland come November.

German promoter Ralf Reiser have postponed the planned August 26 show in Turkey. No new date set.

Swedish welter Benjamin Kalinovic is back home after over a year in Florida. Kalinovic was all set to fight July 7 on a CES show in Cape Cod, MA, but pulled out and returned home. Manager Michael Steinberg was quite disappointed and trainer Buddy McGirt wants the 3-0-0-1 prospect to return.
