Eddie Mustapha Muhammad: I've got Pedro's Back!

As President of the Joint Assn. of Boxers, the only prevailing union for professional boxers, I, Eddie Mustapha Muhammad want to say the following. As I stated at the North American Boxing Convention held earlier this year at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, where Pedro Fernandez was the only member of the boxing media invited to speak, we at JAB are behind Pedro 100 %.

I have never doubted anything he’s said, either to me personally or professionally, and I will be a character witness for Pedro against referee Pat Russell in a California court if need be. The great Harold Lederman of HBO, while honoring Pedro before the Northern California Veterans Boxers Assn. said, “Pedro Fernandez is the straightest boxing writer in history.” And as President of the Joint Assn. of Boxers, I wholeheartedly concur. When it comes to boxers and boxing, no writer has done more to try and help the sport of boxing than Pedro Fernandez. In other words, we’ve got his back!
