Fres Oquendo is ready to do business with Mr. Holyfield

CAROL STREAM, Ill. - Heavyweight contender Fres Oquendo confirmed yesterday night that he's going to fight former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield on November 24th in San Antonio, Texas.

"It's going to be a great fight," said Oquendo enthusistically.

Oquendo, whose record stands at 26-3 with 16 knockouts, fought for the world heavyweight championships twice, but came up short. He lost to Chris Byrd on a controversial unanimous decision on September 20, 2003 and was stopped in 11 rounds by John Ruiz on April 17, 2004.

Oquendo won the Vacant WBO Latino Heavyweight Title with a unanimous decision win over Javier Mora in May.

Evander Holyfield (39-8-2, 26 KO's), 43, won the heavyweight crown the first of four times in 1990 with a knockout over Buster Douglas. Eying another championship, he was stopped in nine rounds by James Toney in 2003 and lost five of his last nine fights. In August, he stopped journeyman Jeremy Bates in two rounds
