Young Boxer, Richard Paige, Passes from Stroke

By Fred Ryan
Grand Avenue Boxing Gym

PORTLAND, Ore. - I'd like to know what happened to an awful nice guy, boxer; Richard Paige that died a day or so ago. I just got a call on this and was told he had a stroke and went away quick.

He visited us in the hotel for the Don Chargin promoted event and hugged us all and wished us luck. He was scheduled to compete with Marcus Pernell in Early October in a rematch.

Wow Man! Whats happening? I understand that nobody gets off this planet alive, but that is way-way too young!

Richard was an angel of a man. May God protect him now.

Editor's note: According to www.boxrec.com, Richard Paige was a cruiserweight with a record of 6-5-1 with two knockouts based out of Sacramento, California.

God rest his soul.
