WARSAW - Russian cruiser Vadim Tokarev square off against American Shane Shwarz November 25 in Warzaw, Poland, in the chief support to Wlodarczyk vs Cunningham for the vacant IBF 200 lb title.
Former WBA middle champ Felix Sturm takes on Australian Gavin Topp on Universumīs show in Duesseldorf November 18. Itīs on the same bill where John Ruiz and Ruslan Chagaev clash in a WBA eliminator and the man who beat Sturm, Spaniard Javier Castillejo face Argentinian Mariano Natalio Carrera in a defence of the WBA title.
The Madrid Boxing Federation staged yesterday (Oct 3) the first show ever inside a Spanish jail. On top of a pro/am bill feather Ivan Ruiz Morote outscored Reynaldo Blanco.
Arena Box Promotion have signed up heavyweight Steffen Kretschmann and female bantam Derya Torun. Kretschmann went 122-22 in the amateurs and will make his pro debut November 10 in Hamburg on the undercard to Alpaslan vs Makaringe.
OK-KO Promotions in the Czech Republic promotes tomorrow (Oct 5) in Prague with cruiser Lubos Suda taking on Belgian Ismail Abdoul. In a supporting bout, also at cruiser, Roman Kracik takes on Pavol Polakovic. If all goes well Suda, Kracik and lightheavy Ladislav Kutil will be on top of OK-KOīs show December 1 in Prague.
Polish middle Gregorz Proksa defends the IBF and WBC Youth titles October 13 in Port Talbot, Wales, against Argentinian Lucero Fraga.
Lightwight Sam Rukondo, from Uganda, fighting out of Sweden and the UK, headlines in Torrevieja, Spain, November 3 against Romanian Marian Leondraliu. Rukondo will then fight in London November 24, Sam resides in Uppsala, Sweden, but finding suitable sparring there is almost impossible. "I spar with Samuel Kebede sometimes in Stockholm but other than Iīm forced to go to London for sparring" says Rukondo.
