CHICAGO - Seen here at ringside with the Cyber Boxing Zone's Ben Torres, former World Boxing Council Light Heavyweight Title holder and current USBA Light Heavyweight Title Holder Montell Griffin had something to say.

"I want to fight Adamek here in Chicago," said Griffin. He was speaking, of course, of Tomasz Adamek, the reigning World Boxing Council Light Heavyweight Title holder.

Griffin is a crafty veteran who's fought a veritable "Who's Who" list of fighters, including Roy Jones, Jr., James Toney, Antonio Tarver, Julio Gonzales and many more, he brings a record of 48-6 with 30 knockouts. This includes a disqualification victory over Roy Jones, Jr. on March 21, 1997. Jones knocked him out in their return match five months later.

Fighting professionally since 1993, at age 36, he's considered on the downside of his career. Still with his experience, he no doubt could pose an intriguing and entertaining challenge to the young Adamek and perhaps give him some more seasoning inbetween megafights. Adamek, who hails from Poland, has been adopted in a sense by Chicago's immense population of Poles, which is second only to Warsaw. Griffin is a native Chicagoan.

Adamek, 29, recently ran his record up to 31-0 with 21 knockouts with his recent win over Paul Briggs at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
