Irish Eyes Smilin' in Boston
Clancy brothers in ring, Duddy at ringside
Battle Zone at The Castle, Dec. 15 on NESN

BOSTON, Mass. (November 29, 2006) – The popular fightin' Clancy brothers, unbeaten heavyweight James Clancy and undefeated cruiserweight Mark Clancy, are both scheduled to box on Battle Zone at The Castle, December 15 at The Castle in downtown Boston. Born in Claire, Ireland and now living in Boston, five-time Irish National amateur champion James (8-0, 1 KO) faces former UBC International cruiserweight title-holder John Battle (14-17-1) in a six-round bout, while Mark meets ex-Massachusetts State cruiserweight champion John "House of Rain" Rainwater (10-13, 3 KOs), of Worcester (MA), in a four-round bout.

At ringside serving as a special color analyst for the taped NESN broadcast will be IBA World middleweight champion "Ireland's" John Duddy (18-0, 15 KOs), winner of this year's prestigious Rocky Marciano Award as a distinguished champion, presented this weekend at the AAIB's Boxerama XXV in White Plains, New York. Boxing was part of life growing up for the Clancy brothers in Clare, highlighted by James' All-Irish Senior title-winning performance in 1995, as well as his victory against present Irish heavyweight champion and 2005 Mike Tyson conqueror Kevin McBride. James' younger brother, Mark, is a four-time Irish National finalist. The Alpha Omega Entertainment Group, in association with Sprint/Nextel and NESN, is promoting Battle Zone at the Castle. The show will be taped lived and shown at a later date on NESN. Ed Berliner handles the blow-by-blow call and boxing historian Mike DeLisa of CyberBoxingZone.com serves as color commentator. Duddy is the third man in the booth. Unbeaten middleweight Jason "The Hammer" Le Houllier headlines Battle Zone at The Castle against tough veteran Frank Houghtaling in the eight-round main event. LeHoullier (20-0, 8 KOs), reigning Northern New England junior middleweight champion, fights out of Portland, Maine. Houghtaling (18-12-5, 4 KOs) has a win against former world champion Livingstone Bramble and has been in against former world champions Sharmba Mitchell and Daniel Santos. The co-feature finds two-time Venezuelan Olympian Patrick "El Elegante" Perez (8-0, 6 KOs) battling former IBC lightweight title challenger Lamar "Cochise" Murphy (29-11-1, 20 KOs) in a 6/8 round junior welterweight match. Worcester's (MA) sensational knockout specialist Enrique "El Palo" Palau (6-0, 5 KOs) takes on former Massachusetts State super middleweight champion Hollister Elliott (7-16-1, 2 KOs), fighting out of Dorchester (MA), in a six-round junior middleweight bout. Also on the undercard is Brockton's light heavyweight Anthony Russell (14-2-1, 3 KOs), originally from Canada, versus Mike Bonislawski (18-22-2, 4 KOs), of Cambridge (MA), in a 4/6 round fight.
