An Early Christmas Gift!

HOLLYWOOD, FL, December 15 – Despite his reputation as one of the most feared fighters in the world, never let it be said that uncrowned middleweight champion Edison Miranda doesn’t have a more generous side, as was evidenced by his presentation of an early Christmas gift to the man he will be fighting on Saturday, Willie Gibbs.

The gift? Two Titanium plates and 22 screws, to symbolize the hardware needed by IBF middleweight belt holder Arthur Abraham to repair the jaw Miranda broke in two places on September 23rd in Germany. Miranda promises more pain in the HBO-televised bout against Gibbs at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming this weekend.

“I respect Gibbs as a fighter and for being a man and stepping up to fight me,” said Miranda, 26-1 with 23 KOs. “But he’s standing in my way and I have to remove him. If he stands and fights me, he will suffer the same fate as Arthur Abraham.”

This bout, which is presented by Main Events in association with Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions, All-Star Boxing, and Miccosukee Resort & Gaming, will take place at Miccosukee Resort & Gaming in Miami, Florida and will be televised live on HBO Boxing After Dark beginning at 9:30pm ET.

Also featured on the card will be an exciting featherweight battle between undefeated John Litzau (20-0, 18KO’s) and Chicago's Jose Hernandez (21-3, 13 KO’s).
