Robert Morales: Covina's Molina making his mark

COVINA, Calif. -- JOHN Molina played football at Charter Oak High School and also was a pole vaulter on the track & field team. But to him, there was nothing like being involved in a sport that allowed him to go toe to toe with another athlete.

Molina showed his worth in that realm by winning league, CIF and Masters championships in wrestling at 135 pounds as a senior. He lost in the title match at the state championships in Stockton.
