Undefeated Mike 'Irish' Nevitt vs. Irish Shawn Hammack on March 16th!
Annual St. Patrick's Day professional boxing event, on Friday March 16th at Cicero Stadium.

Press Release

CICERO, Ill. -- MARCH MAYHEM, another evening of world class professional boxing is presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, along with TCF Bank and Miller Lite.

Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 7:00pm with the first bell at 8:00pm. Advanced tickets can be obtained by calling 312-226-5800.

Mike Nevitt, 13-0 (5KO’s), coming off a unanimous decision over Paulino Avitia on December 1st at Cicero Stadium, spoke about headlining the special evening of world class professional boxing, “I’m thrilled to return to the ring in Chicago on such a special occasion as the night before St. Patrick’s Day. Hammack’s an Irish kid like me and I’m sure we’ll put on a great fight. It was a terrific event last year and I’m sure Cicero Stadium will be packed for this event.”

Speaking about returning to Cicero Stadium, Nevitt said, “The energy level at Cicero Stadium is always very high and the fans there are great. It’s just a perfect venue for both fighters and fans.”

In regards to his own career, Nevitt would say, “I’m ready for a step up now. Hammack is a real solid guy and if I can get past him, I’d like to get a fight against a ranked guy, preferably on TV.”

The heavy handed Shawn Hammack, 13-4-2 (11KO’s), from St. Charles, Missouri, is riding a five bout winning streak dating back to June 2006, four of the wins coming by knockout.

Said Pesoli, “We’re very happy to bring Mike back, he’s one of the most popular fighters in Chicago and we know how much it means to him to fight on our St. Patrick’s Day event. Hammack’s a real hard swinging kid and this fight, like most of Mike’s, should be action packed from the beginning.”
