2-Time Wld. Champ & Playboy Covergal Mia St. John Guest of White Sox Mgr. Ozzie Guillen at Tues. Pres Conference; Fans Invited to Meet “Fist of Fury” Boxers at Fight Week Events

Guillen, beloved for his Hall of Fame playing and coaching careers as well as his colorfully candid comments, is known to be a fight fan. “That’s great, because I’m a big baseball fan,” St. John said. “I can’t wait to meet him, especially since he was the first Latino manager to win a World Series.”
In addition to St. John, “Merciless” Mary McGee, Jimmy “The Fighting School Teacher” Holmes (14-0-2, 7 KOs), Don Moore (10-0-1, 8 KOS), Nick Cook (14-1-1, 8 KOs) and Jason Cook (pro debut), will be available for autographs and photos at a number of Fight Week events.

Wednesday, April 18th at 1 p.m.- Chicago’s official pre-fight press conference hosted by Players Bar & Grill, 551 N. Ogden (just north of Grand).
Wednesday, April 18th at 6:30 p.m.- Northwest Indiana’s official pre-fight press conference hosted by The Registry, 15 N. Court St. in Crown Point.
Thursday, April 19th at 6:30 p.m.-The official “Fist of Fury” weigh ins will be hosted by Langel’s Pizza, 2833 Highway Avenue in Highland, IN.
Since making her professional debut nearly 10 years ago, St. John, a pioneer of women’s boxing and a certain Hall of Famer, has fought on some of the highest profile boxing cards headlined by legends including Oscar de La Hoya (5 times), Julio Cesar Chavez, Arturo Gatti, Johnny Tapia, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Roy Jones Jr.
In the November 1999 issue of Playboy magazine, Mia appeared on the cover along with an eleven page boxing themed celebrity pictorial. She has appeared on Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, The O’Reilly Factor, The ESPYs and many others.
The daughter of a Mexican immigrant single mother, Mia founded the El Saber Es Poder Foundation, which seeks to empower Latinos by providing schools with better supplies, equipment and developmental programs to help further education.
Chicagoland’s premier entertainment venue, The Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, is conveniently located just 45 minutes from Chicago. Simply take the Skyway to I-65 and exit at US 30.
