New York, April 26-The two premier active Jewish athletes in America were at Shea Stadium yesterday, as undefeated boxer Dmitriy “Star of David” Salita and Mets slugger Shawn Green met for the first time.
Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Salita now fights out of Brooklyn, NY. Salita’s impressive ring record of 27-0-1 includes 15 victories by way of knock out.
"I enjoy live baseball, it's exciting and relaxing," said Salita. "Shawn Green is off to a great start and it was an honor to meet a great athlete and a New York Mets star. Shawn was very cool and welcoming. We spoke about baseball, boxing and New York City. I hope to see him at one of my future fights."
