Fighters Visit with Mayor Rudy Clay on Wednesday!

GARY, Ind. - Seeking to attract new, major sporting events to Gary, on Wednesday, Mayor Rudy Clay will welcome the opportunity to showcase the city through this internationally televised event.

Mayor Clay is hosting a press conference on Wednesday, June 6 for Friday's "Solo Boxeo de Tecate," an evening of world class boxing. Held in the Gary Room of Gary's City Hall, the press conference starts at 11:30 a.m.

Eight bouts including a 12-round WBA World Championship title eliminator bout to be broadcast live on Friday, June 8th to more than 42 US markets and 70 foreign countries from Gary's Hudson-Campbell Sports Center on Telefutura.

Friday's night of boxing will be hosted by Octavius James, CEO- One In A Million, Inc., in association with Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated and the city of City of Gary.

The show will feature:

#5 WBC "Merciless" Mary McGee (9-0, 5 KOs), Gary, IN

Former IBF Champion and WBA Fedalatin Champion Daniel "El Olympico" Reyes (38-4-1, 30 KOs), Cartagena, Columbia

IN.B.A State Welterweight Champ Jermaine "Too Sweet" White (15-2, 7 KOs), Gary/Merrillville, IN

"Dangerous" Don Moore (11-0-1, 9 KOs), Gary, IN

Jimmy "The Fighting School Teacher" Holmes (15-0-2, 8 KOs), DeMotte, IN

Travis "The Hitman" Loveless (10-0, 9 KOs), Frankfort, IN

In Friday's main event, NABF champion Giovanni "The Aztec Warrior" Segura (17-0-1, 13 KOs) of Ciudad Altamirano, Mexico faces former IBF champion Daniel Reyes (38-4-1, 30 KOs) of Columbia in a 12-round World Boxing Association light flyweight championship eliminator.

Gary's own Mary McGee will make her televised boxing debut against Mexico's Eva Lidia Silva in a 6-round lightweight bout.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Television broadcast begins at 7 p.m.

TICKETS: $100 VIP, $75 VIP ringside, $50 ringside and $25 general admission, are available from the Hudson-Campbell Center (866/438-7372) or any Ticket Master outlet.
