Robert Morales: Time for Hatton to prove worth

Ricky Hatton has 42 professional fights. He has won every one, 30 by knockout. But the two-division world champion has been in only one fight that will matter years from now. That would be his 11th-round stoppage of Kostya Tszyu before a delirious crowd in Hatton's hometown of Manchester, England.

That June 2005 fight for Tszyu's junior welterweight championship was brutal. It made Hatton look like he could be the next superstar in boxing. But he has not taken advantage. Since then, Hatton is 3-0 with one knockout. He stopped Carlos Maussa in the ninth round in a junior welterweight title unification bout. Even though Maussa held one of the four belts, he was anything but a strong champion.
