Press Release - Boxing's Thoroughbred Andre Berto Gallops Into Saratoga!
Meets Title Challenger Cosme Rivera On Tomorrow's ESPN's Friday Night Fights!

New York, July 24—Boxing’s sleek thoroughbred – undefeated welterweight sensation Andre Berto – the fight game’s version of three-year-old Triple Crown race winners Street Sense (Kentucky Derby), Curlin (Preakness) and Rags To Riches (Belmont Stakes), invades America’s horse country when he squares off against Cosme Rivera on ESPN/2’s Friday Night Fights this Friday, July 27 at Saratoga Springs City Center in Saratoga.

Berto and Rivera will get into the spirit of opening week of the spectacular Saratoga Race Course Summer meeting when they partake in a ceremonial weigh in at the Spa on Thursday at 1:00 PM, immediately following the first race on the program, followed by a press conference and photo opportunity.

The co-featured combatants, unbeaten heavyweight prospect Chazz Witherspoon and Talmadge Griffis, will also be on hand at Saratoga to meet the press.

Some of the leading jockeys at the Saratoga meeting are expected to be on hand in a “stare down” photo opportunity with the fighters while welcoming the pugilists to the track.

Berto (18-0, 16 KOs), the former Olympian, squares off against ring veteran Rivera (30-10, 21 KOs) in the toughest test of his promising, young career in the headline bout of the annual summer boxing card.
