A Few of the Kids Are Shown in Front of Their Potential Clubhouse. Please help us make this a reality and watch us grow.

EL LLANO, Nayarit Mexico - I live in the small community of Miramar, Nayarit Mexico, which is located about 27 kms south of San Blas.

The people of this community are primely fishermen and oyster divers. They are really super nice people who struggle on a daily basis to feed their families. The problem is that there is nothing here for their kids to do for recreation. I am faced with the project of soliciting help in acquiring equipment to teach these kids to box.

Boxing is a sport which will teach them self control, sportsmanship and coordination while taking out some of their excess energies.

I have known most of the people in this community for 25 years and have watched them go from stick house to at least block houses and some fairly nice homes.

There is currently an 18 month ban on harvesting oysters. This was placed by the federal government in order to give the oysters time to grow and create more reproduction. This ban was only put in place last month, so the families have a long time to survive on some other small sources of employment.

They obviously do not have the cash flow to meet their daily needs and to purchase sports equipment. These kids have a couple pairs of old boxing gloves and that is it. They have a place to set up a ring but they are in need of the ring, headgear, gloves, and whatever else is needed to teach them this sport.

There is one man here who was a boxer and he willing to volunteer to teach the kids. There are some of the younger men who were involved in boxing as a sport and are more than happy to help the smaller kids.

If you are capable of equipment donations, please feel free to contact me.It would also be nice to have people who are willing to come down and help set this project up.

Thank You,

Arla

Would also appreciate donations of good used or new gymnastic equipment to create full scale gym and recreational facility.
