Aaron Williams

In response to Alfredo Escalera, Jr turning down a fight with unbeaten cruiserweight prospect, Aaron Williams (14-0-1, 10 KO’s), Team Williams has sent Escalera diapers and a basket of chicken.

“Escalera is a fraud, pure and simple,’ said Williams’ co-manager, Patrick Doljanin. “Our promoter, Jimmy Burchfield, was contacted and an offer was made to fight Escalera on ESPN 2, August 24th. We accepted the fight immediately. Jimmy was then told that Escalera did not want to fight Aaron.”

“I’m sure their going to try and spin-it a million different ways, but the fact is, he refused to fight Aaron and we’re letting the fans know. This is an example of a guy living off his father’s name.”

On August 10th, Williams scored a 1st KO over Jeff Brownfield.

In June, Williams knocked Deleon Tinsley out of the ring, on way to a 2nd round stoppage. The KO was featured as ESPN Sports Center’s #3 “Play of the Day.”

The 21 year old Williams was a 9-time national amateur champion. The Las Vegas resident is trained by former WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. He is promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports.

Doljanin continued, “The diapers have an Everlast logo on them, so he can wear them for his fight this Friday. The chicken is in honor of his new nickname, “La Polla” (The Chicken).”

“If Escalera and his team visit the Wizard of Oz and get some courage and a heart, they can call our promoter, Jimmy Burchfield, Classic Entertainment and Sports: 401- 727 – 2253,” Doljanin added. “We’d love to make the match. But, please, no excuses. Either put up or shut up.”
