VALLEY CENTER, Calif. - Popular Featherweight prospect, Jason Litzau took another step towards rebuilding his contender status this Friday night at Harrah's Rincon Casino in Valley Center, California with a second round stoppage win over one-time contender Emmanuel Lucero.

The bout began at a slow pace as both fighters felt each other out at a distance. The long armed Litzau began to step forward with his jab as Lucero looked to keep his distance. Litzau finally cornered Lucero where he unloaded with right hands and left uppercuts. A right to the head floored Lucero. The Mexican fighter beat the count, but the end was clearly near as he seemed to walk back to his corner in a haze at the end of the first.

At the start of the second Lucero came alive, opening up with looping shots, pushing Litzau back. Unfortunately for Lucero, Litzau used his aggression against him as he countered on the inside and landed repeatedly with his right hand. The quicker Litzau pressed the action, landing a hard left hook that hurt Lucero. A big right hand had Lucero in serious trouble as he dropped to one knee. The referee wisely waved the fight off at 2:48 of the second round.
