Euro-Beat Update: Beyer Looking to Get Back in the Mix!

Former WBC supermiddle champ Markus Beyer wants to come back this fall or early winter but has been told by his manager Wilfried Sauerland that the three remaining shows for 2007 are fully booked, writes German news agency sid. As the story continues it appears that Beyerīs contract is up for renewal at the end of 2007. Sauerland is not against Beyer coming back but wants the terms re-negotiated. A German showdown against Jurgen Brahmer could be in the cards. Beyer have been inactive - mainly due to a hand injury - since losing the title to Mikkel Kessler in the fall of 2006.

Juan Carlos Gomez was a judge for a beauty contest while the reigning WBC Intīl heavy champ Oliver McCall went to church - thatīs how the two maineventers for Arenaīs big show in Berlin October 19 spent their weekend. Fair enough, Gomezīs appointment as a judge was a part of the promotion for the show.

Supermiddle Robert Stieglitz continued his way back with a ten round unanimous decision over William Gare on SESī promotion in Magdeburg Saturday night. On the undercard welter Jan Zaveck outscored Albert Starikov in a Intīl German titlefight while female jr welter Ramona Kuhne won the WIBF interim crown with a points victory over Loli Munoz.

Tobiga Loriga and Marcelo Saucedo clash for the IBF Intīl jr middle title October 26 in Rome, Italy.

In Berne, Switzerland, welter Riad Menasria lost to Romanian Gheorghe Danut in a big upset October 13. Menasria was 27-0-1 going into the fight while Danut was 4-7-3.

Italian jr middle Sven Paris fights in Italy November 27 after a brief stint in the US. Paris is featured on the undercard to Italian lightweight titlefight between Giovanni Niro and Massimiliano Chiofalo.
