The Ukraine Boxing Team is preparing for the World Boxing Championships at Warehouse Boxing Club & Gym in Highland Park, IL. The AIBA World Championships will be held in Chicago, October 23 to November 3, 2007 at the University of Illinois—Chicago Pavilion. For more information on the AIBA World Championships, go to: worldboxingchicago.org

Seventeen amateur boxers and their coaches began training at the North Shore gym earlier this week. Gym owner, Albert Falcon is honored to be hosting the Ukraine team.

“We have a Ukraine coach and several boxers from the Ukraine, training at our gym, said Falcon. Their coach contacted me when they arrived. There isn’t a gym in Chicago or the area that can accommodate this many boxers. I told them, I would be happy to let them use my gym.” The AIBA World Boxing Championships will be the largest in history, with 700 boxers from 120 countries. The AIBA World Boxing Championships will serve as an Olympic qualifier for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

In the past, Warehouse has attracted professional World Champions, as well. Recently, former WBO champion, Lamon Brewster, wrapped-up his training at Warehouse Gym prior to his one round demolition of Andrew Golota.

The Warehouse Gym and Boxing Club is located at 1586 Old Deerfield Road in Highland Park. With 18,000 square feet, three boxing rings and a weight training room, Warehouse Gym is, by far, the largest boxing gym in and around Chicago.

Warehouse offers boxing lessons for all ages and levels, for both men and women. Additionally, mixed martial arts lessons are taught by Bryan Harpence, trainer of 9-world champions and a judge on the series, “Fight Girl.”

In addition, Warehouse offers core, flexibility, strength and conditioning courses.
