Cameron Parks’ Rock Solid Promotions kicks off 2008 with an exciting evening of professional boxing on Thursday, January 17th at the Grand Plaza Hotel in Houston.

“We had a great run last year and we are hoping to keep the momentum going in 2008 for the great boxing fans we have here in Houston!” said promoter Park.

Headlining the action packed card will be hard-hitting Heavyweight bomber “Big” Steve Collins (16-1, 13 KO’s) who always comes to fight and will be looking to keep his knockout streak intact in front of his many Houston fans.

Also slated to appear is 2004 Olympic Super Welterweight alternate Austin Trout (13-0, 10 KO’s) from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Trout is a stylish and gifted box-fighter who looks to be destined for big thinks in the professional ranks and bears keeping an eye on.

Big punching heavyweight prospect Eugene Hill (8-0, 7 KO’s) is also going to be in action and anyone that has seen this young belter battle knows they are going to get their money’s worth when he is on the card.

Light Heavyweight prospect and former amateur National Champion Alfonso Lopez (5-0, 4 KO’s) will also be in action and will look to make it six in a row on his undefeated slate and has been pegged by several local fight authorities as a future champion.

Exciting featherweight Cruz Valdiva (3-0, 2 KO’s) looks to wow his hometown audience once again with another brutal knockout win. Valdiva scored a sensation stoppage in under one minute in his last fight here.

As always, the Hooters girls will be in action as well for the lucky fight fans in attendance to serve as waitresses for all of your refreshment needs.

The Grand Plaza is located at 8686 Kirby Drive @ 610 and is easy to get to from anywhere in the surrounding metropolis and offers valet parking.

Ticket prices are reasonably priced at: $25 General Admission, $50 and $60 Ringside, and $100 VIP Ringside
