Last Minute Changes at Lucky Eagle

NWBA Heavyweight Bout Shuffles Opponents

Saturday, Feb. 9

Lucky Eagle Casino, Rochester, WA.

Last minute news on the day of the show is that some bouts on the Lucky Eagle card set for Saturday, Feb. 9, have been scratched. Word is that winter weather prevented several fighters from traveling to the casino.

The scheduled main event, an 8 round fight for the vacant NWBA Heavyweight title, was going through changes anyway. Stalwart former college football player Eric “Night Train” Boose ( 12-2-1, 7 KO’s) has been the one constant factor. The 27 year-old Boose, of Puyallup, WA was originally supposed to face Spokane’s Chancy Welliver, who bowed out early, then John Wesley Clark of California was named. As of fight day Boose’s opponent is 39 year-old war horse, Louis Monaco (16-35-5, 8 KO’s) of Denver, CO.

Also scheduled:

6 rounds, Middleweights—Ben Aragon (6-8-1, 5 KO’s) of Billings, MT VS Jacob Ruffin (1-8-2) of Post Falls, ID.

4 rounds, heavyweights—Vili “The Tongan Warrior” Bloomfield (7-3, 4 KO’s) of Everett, WA VS Leo Bercier (4-5, 3 KO’s) of Great Falls, MT

4 rounds, Middleweights---Matt Palmer (1-1) of Missoula, MT VS Corey McFarland, making his pro debut.
