By Jill Diamond
This delightful, seventeen year old who enchanted us all at the World Boxing Cares Benefit last October is being joined on stage by the sassy Sophie Russek, also John Rhineheimer on guitar and Jean Kim on piano. The afternoon holds a promise of humor, beauty and unforgettable songs.
Hannah is a phenom. A LaGuardia student, she has her sites set on a career in theater and recording. This summer she will be in Austria with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Then, the entire company travels to Southern California for an intensive acting workshop. Meanwhile, Hannah lives and practices with her Aunt, Susan Lambert (also a professional singer and teacher), who's appeared in theater and clubs in the US and abroad.
Hannah plans on having the ravishing and talented Andrea Scannell, a seasoned pro and sweet voiced song bird, join her on stage for a couple of numbers. Andrea and Hannah make breathtaking sounds together in the haunting " 10,000 Miles" as well as singing and dancing with Christina Santamaria in the raucous "You Could Drive a Person Crazy" from Sondheim's Company.
The program is eclectic but one thing is for sure -- Hannah and her friends look ad sing like angels. It will be the most fun you've had in Cabaret in a long while.
